Prompto is a leading member of the Overnight New Century Express (ONCE) Network. ONCE is one of the fastest freight distribution networks in Ireland catering for both individual package and palletised consignments. Serviced by the central hub in Portlaoise, Co. Laois, the ONCE network of depots are strategically-located throughout the country allowing for next day delivery to most addresses.
Each working day, members of the ONCE group collect freight in their area. This freight is then returned to each member's respective home depot where it is unloaded and recorded in the ONCE Network freight management application. A barcode ID label is then generated and affixed to each consignment. These consignments are then transported to the central hub in Portlaoise, where they are unloaded and deposited into warehouse bays, depending on their final destination. When all trucks have unloaded, they queue up through the hub warehouse again and are loaded with freight for their area. The trucks then return to their respective home depots where the consignments are unloaded and sorted for delivery the following day.
